Agriculture Engineering

Agriculture Engineering

Introduction

Agriculture Engineering Agricultural is an old thought which applies as new trends. Agricultural engineering is a new engineering discipline that applies engineering science and technology to agricultural production and processing. Agricultural engineering combines the disciplines of animal biology, plant biology, and principles of various branches of engineering like as mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and chemical engineering with knowledge of agricultural principles. During the study period of this course, many subjects are taught like as design of agricultural machinery, equipment, and agricultural structures internal combustion engines as applied to agricultural machinery, livestock production including poultry, fish, and dairy animals, agricultural resource management, water management, conservation and storage for crop irrigation, surveying and land profiling, climatology and atmospheric science, soil management and conservation, including erosion and erosion control; seeding, harvesting and processing of crops; bioresource engineering, which uses machines on the molecular level to help the environment, design of experiments related to crop and animal production; waste management including animal waste, agricultural residues and fertilizer runoff, food engineering and the processing of agricultural products, basic principles of circuit analysis, as applied to electrical motors physical and chemical properties of materials used in, or produced by agricultural production. The study of agricultural engineering provided many career options because it is related with agriculture. Agriculture Engineering

Career Objects in Agriculture Engineering

Today various career options are provided in agriculture sector. Agricultural engineers may perform tasks as planning, supervising and managing the building of dairy effluent schemes, irrigation, drainage, flood and water control systems, perform environmental impact assessments, agricultural product processing and interpret research results and implement relevant practices. A large number of agricultural engineers work in academies or for government agencies. Some are consultants, employed by private engineering firms, while others work in industry, for manufacturers of agricultural machinery, equipment, processing technology, and structures for housing livestock and storing crops. Agricultural engineers can also work in production, sales, management, research and development, or applied science.

Agricultural engineers may be give their services in the sales, marketing and servicing of farm equipment and agricultural implements, in designing and constructing farm buildings, in product planning, mechanizing procedures and crop storage and processing. Jobs in mechanized farms, for rural electrification, and in agro-industrial corporations are also increasing for professionals of this field. Agricultural engineers also work as assistant engineers, designers, management trainees, and technical officers in banks. They could also work for tubewell borings, irrigation and drainage projects, canal irrigation programmes, land reclamation and soil conservation projects. Besides teaching and technical journalism, large numbers of these engineers are absorbed in Central and state governments departments of agriculture.

Pay/ Salary

Salary in this field ranges from Rs. 25,000 to Rs 50,000 as a fresher’s and up to Rs. 1, 50,000 as an experienced person. It is depended upon qualification and experience of the person. Experience counts a lot in this field as everything is based on observation and knowledge of that person and earning increases with experience.
