This field provided many career options. Courses

Main courses are diploma in diamond trade management, post graduate diploma in diamond technology, certificate course in color gemstone,  cutting and polishing, diploma in jewellary designing, post graduate diploma in jewellary designing, one year diploma in jewellary manufacturing, advance diploma in jewellary design and technology, diploma in jemology, certificate course in basic jeweellery design, certificate course in diamond identification.

Qualifications

For admission courses in gemology and jewellery design minimum qualification is 10+2 for post graduate diploma courses minimum qualification is graduation or diploma course in related field. For diploma course graduation in any field and for short-term courses the minimum qualification is either be class 10 or a 10 + 2.

Job Options

This field is a very gaining field due to demand of gemology or jewellary. The boom in the gems and jewellery industry has brought job opportunities for jewellery designers. Designers can work in jewellery showrooms or work as Jewellery designer or artist, goldsmith, fashion jeweler, repair person, lapidary, manufacturer. Talented designers can also start own freelance designing business or set up own retail and trading shop. Teaching field is also open for suitable candidates. One can also work with renowned jewellery brands such as Tanishq, Swarovski, Nakshatra, and Gili as in Jewellery making and designing units, Jewellery shops and showrooms, antique and art auction houses.

Pay/Earnings

Earning in this field has no barrier. Earnings of a jewellery designer can differ and depending on the education and experience. For as a fresherone can get around Rs 30, 000 to Rs 60, 000 per month. With experience it can increase from Rs 45,000 to Rs 90,000 or more. Top-rated designers can easily find salaries about Rs 1, 00, 000 to Rs 1, 50, 000 even more per month.
