Eligibility

For diploma and graduate courses the minimum qualification 10+2 or equivalent examination pass with a minimum 50% of marks. Minimum graduate degree is required for Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management and Graduate degree in Hotel management is minimum qualification for Master of Science degree in Hospitality Administration.

Career Objects

The most graduates usually work in five star hotels or other private hotel chains, some work in restaurant management, cruise ship hotel management, institutional and industrial catering, club or bar management, airline catering and cabin services, or management of catering departments in banks and insurance houses. One can work as Front Office Management, Marketing Management, Food and Beverages Management, Event Management or Co-ordination, Reservations Manager and Convention Services Manager. One can work as General Managers, Resident Managers, Executive Housekeepers, Convention Services Managers Food and Beverage Manager, Banquet Manager, Executive Chef, Front Office Manager.

Pay/ Earnings

Starting salary of a degree holder is Rs 35,000 or more per month. Candidates with diploma or certification course can get starting salary from Rs 20,000 to 40,000 per month. It increases with experience and time up to 1, 00, 000. The salary package differs on the size and shape of the employment company. Large hotel chains offer attractive salaries to their employees.
