Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery is a degree programme of Unani treatment. It is a degree to equivalent to MBBS. This stream of medical is depending upon Unani medicine.
Eligibility
Minimum qualification for this program is 10+2 in physics, biology and chemistry but knowledge of Urdu language is an additional requirement for this course. Applicant should have passed senior (10+2)/Intermediate or equivalent course recognized by state board or central board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The applicant should have passed secondary exam with Urdu subject or equivalent to it as Adeeb-e-Mahir, Kamil. Candidates should complete 17 years of age at the time of admission. This degree is equivalent to M.B.B.S degree. Admission in this program is through entrance test organized by colleges or by state governments.
Duration: – 4½ Year (Four and Half Years) Main course with 1 year compulsory internship training programme.
Career Objects
After this programme candidate become a doctor. A BUMS doctor can serve with government or private hospital or also can own private practice.
Pay/Earning
Although the pay scale in the private sector is not organized yet a BUMS doctor can start his career with approximately Rs. 25,000 per month. With decent personal set-up and experience one can earn between Rs. 30,000 to 80,000 or more per month. However there is no limitation once the doctor becomes famous in the society.
